    Default Colt SP1

I had a friend of a friend ask me if I wanted a Colt SP1 from an estate.
I haven't seen it yet, but wondered what a fair value would be.
All I know is that it is reported to be in excellent condition, over 25 years old, has a Colt 4X scope.
What else should I ask before I see it.
I honestly don't know anything about ARs. I am an M1, M1A guy.

Second question, unmodified how accurate are the SP1s?

$1000-1500 ish range. Check gunbroker for comparison shopping.

Its probably a 1:12 so they are just as accurate as other old Colts - the 20" being the more sought-after version.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

And an original, vg-exc 4x Colt-branded scope is worth $500 just by itself.

Price. Fixed or 2 pos collapsible stock. Some had em a lot didn't.
    It should be a 1:12 pencil / .625 bbl
Very nice shooters 55gr drops them almost on top of each other (on a good day)

    Condition is everything.
Also a major factor is if the original box/documentation is included.
Those alone can be 200-300.00 bonus or detractor.

Close to original condition and any boxes paperwork, sales reciepts etc. The scope is pretty good property by itself. So many of those SP1's were jacked with. If you get the gun repost and we can give you a better answer.

    Thanks for the info.
Missed it. It was gone for $1500 yesterday afternoon.
Comcast was out, so, I wasn't able to connect to the net yesterday afternoon.
