It frustrates me to no end how most video games (Call of Duty is notoriously bad about this) don't have the word "magazine" in the game. EVERYTHING is a clip. And so nearly everyone playing those games assumes that Call of Duty is an authority on guns, and they call everything a clip too. And so it perpetuates.

I've decided to not care any more. Clip still annoys me a little when I hear it but I don't say anything

Don't forget that they mislabel weapons classes in the game too- Assault Rifles...

Well, the assault rifle in that context is not terribly inaccurate is it? You are picking a rifle to assault with... But either way, video games generally don't teach correct nomenclature. Last time I played COD, I had some 9 year old yelling at me about how he emptied his whole clip into me and I didn't die.

An AR is an "AR" or a "carbine". (FYI- the term battle rifle usually refers to a non-sniper platform .308. I.e. an FAL or a SR-25 EMC)

A magazine is a magazine. I can't think of a reason I would use the term "high capacity magazine" unless I was mocking someone. For an AR, a 30rd magazine is standard capacity. For a G19, a 15rd magazine is standard capacity.

Stop hanging out with hippies and you won't have these problems.....
Go look at the for sale section on this board and many others. A lot of so called gun folks use the term hi cap.
Its ridiculous and hurts our sport.

Then they should be mercilessly mocked until they learn. Negative reinforcement can be a useful tool in such situations.

I hate how more than 10 rounds in commonly considered "high capacity". Most of my mags hold more than 10 rounds. 10 rounds is on the low end of the capacity scale and should be considered "low capacity".

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

I don't have any mags (or clips) that hold LESS than 10 rounds.

/\ This. Even give them titles under their names to reflect that.

If it makes peeople feel better about their mags, we can call them "govt length magazines"
