Default Canada not safe for dodgers anymore...

    http://news.yahoo.com/canada-orders-...175053162.html
Canada has ordered the deportation of a female soldier who fled the U.S. military in order to avoid the war in Iraq, officials said Thursday.
    ...
Rivera, a 30-year-old Army private, served in Iraq in 2006. She said she became disillusioned with the mission. She crossed the border into Canada while on leave in February 2007, after she was ordered to serve another tour there.
After arriving in Canada on leave, she applied for refugee status.
    ...
In January of 2009, Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board ordered her and her family to leave the country or face deportation. Rivera appealed that decision.
Rivera's lawyer, Alyssa Manning, has argued in Canada's federal court that her client would likely face a court martial and jail time, possibly up to five years, if she is deported.
Just a snippet, but seriously? You join the Army there is a very good chance you will deploy. You can't just change your mind, it shows a lack of commitment and if you don't agree or have doubts you shouldn't have signed up in the first place. I have no sympathy for this idiot. I wonder what her MOS was- my bet is that she's probably S1 or something like that.

Anyone who joined (especially if they chose combat arms) after 2003 gets no sympathy from me.

Oh, you joined a war time military and now you have to go to war? Imagine that. Suck it the fuck up and live up to your oath.

Oh my. Go hand your time out card to the enemy and see how that works! I agree, in the fact, that you joined the military that happens to be at war and did not expect to serve a tour or two or three?

I have no sympathy. All-volunteer force...means everyone that's in did so voluntarily. You sign on the dotted line, you obey all lawful orders.

It's a case of lowering standards for the military. Sounds like a room temperature IQ lady. (Centigrade, not Fahrenheit) Canada has been sending troops to these goat-f**ker countries since 2001. Should have tried her luck with Hugo Chavez or somebody else who doesn't like the US. Maybe Iran.

Not to mention, they asked my three different times before I signed every document and took the oath "No one coerced you or forced you to join, correct?"

Another thing I have to touch upon, and other SMs/vets might have seen this. In 2006 I left basic, got Christmas off, then in Jan '07 I went to AIT. Upon arriving and meeting with other soldiers who attended basic at different locations than my own, I learned of this concept called "the stress card." A soldier could pull this card at any time when the drill sergeants were being "too hard" on them, and causing them undo stress. I found this concept terrible, and deplorable. I quickly learned of two soldiers in our AIT platoon who had pulled this card in BCT and immediately informed them: "The Taliban won't stop shooting at you because you pull out a card and say 'excuse me Abdullah, you're causing me undo stress, you have to stop.' Soldier the fuck up."

The reason for the derail, my bet is that this soup-sandwich, sorry excuse for a soldier probably pulled out her stress card many times. Way to disgrace the uniform, bitch.

Speaking of, what ever happened to that Pendleton Marine that went AWOL to Lebanon and said he was kidnapped?
