I need a new laptop

Anybody know anyone that builds computers or works at a computer store? My little brother just got out of the military and he's using the same computer he had with him in Iraq at school. Needless to say its trashed and he needs something better. I haven't used a laptop in years and don't want to get crushed buying one from a big box. Looking for someone that has a connection or I willing to help a brother out. Thanks guys! Any and all help is appreciated.

He needs it for school, so papers and such. Don't need much software as I have that covered. He's got some cash and definately wants new.

I'm gonna hit action pc on Saturday with him and see if we can sort it out. Im not comfortable ordering a laptop online, been years since I've read about computers, plus this money will stay in the forum. Thanks

Order straight from Dell. If he is a Student, he can get "student pricing" through his school. The school will usually also provide Microsoft Office (Adobe too) as part of the tuition package. This can save him $200-$600+ on software.

I would not go any other way for a College student. He will need a .edu email address for this and may have to get with the school staff for Dell student pricing. Dont run to the store and buy, if you plan ahead it works out better. He can suffer another 1-2 on the junker!
