Default Advice on a new as grill.

So my side came today and my 6+ year old grill is falling apart. Need to buy a new gas grill and everything and everyone points to a Weber.

Can someone please talk me out of it? The wife will shoot me if I spend 8 Benjamin's on a grill but all my research says this is the way to go.

My neighbor picked up a sweet grill off craigslist due to the fact they were moving. I'm not sure how I feel about using a grill that somebody else used. But it was an option that I hadn't thought of.

If you grill year round go for it. If not what else could you get with the same features for less price.
It's labor day weekend and the big box stores are running 10-30% sales. Buy the floor model, pointing out it looks a little damaged

    Default Weber works

I'm using a 15 year old Weber that has had the grill and flavor units replaced. The rest works fine.
Ours is the simple three burner two level unit.

you could buy a Char-broil or anything else for $300....and buy another in 3 years for $350...and another in 6 years for $400

or you could just go out and buy a weber today for $900 and be all set for 10 years

I fell into the first trap for 15 year. And replaced my grill every 3 years. I've had my weber now for 2 and it still looks brand new. The key is to buy the one that's all stainless (grates, bottom of tub, deflecters...you know all the inside stuff)

Do you buy crap guns and put no-name oil in your car? If ot, why compromise on the grill? The heat distribution will be better with a good grill. Weber kettles are less than $100

I ended up with a Member's Mark grill (Sams) off Craigslist about 4 years ago for $150. All stainless except the burners. Needs an igniter and have replaced the regulator, otherwise, it has held up great.
