Point taken. Too broad of a stroke on my part.

The purpose of my post is to attempt to point out that religion and science are not inherently in opposition of each other. There are many brilliant scientific minds from all walks of life, and the pursuit of God has led to many scientific breakthroughs.

Knowledge is knowledge, and does not have a religious requirement. Nor is it anti-Religious/spiritual/faith/etc by any means.

I laugh my butt off at how Christians need to "shut up and keep their faith to themselves" while atheists and other groups are tout their superior intellect and achievement.

Proselytizing is proselytizing. No religion required.

    But I digress.

I don't know if you saw the video, but what those Muslims did to Gaddafi didn't really show much love, even though there was a certain sexual aspect to what happened.

I kind of get why many men find Islam appealing. It clearly supports male dominance and promotes subjugation of women. I don't understand why the women let it happen? A man has to sleep right? Women have access to sharp objects right? You get where I'm going with this?

By middle of this century, not far off, Russians will be in the minority in their own country. Koran thumpers will be in the majority...with nukes and they don't drink vodka. Imagine a Muslim Putin: world's largest country, world's most resources, 2nd highest number of nukes, and willing to whack for those imaginary 80 virgin girls/boys/goats/sheep/whatever has a pulse. Europe isn't too far behind. IMHO the Europeans should start posting pix of the madman Mohammed and get it started. A few weeks of riots would maybe wake up those guys across the pond to the dangers that are coming. Just amazed that a religion would kill over a cartoon of their insane prophet.
Putin is one of the few leaders in the world (along with maybe china's leader at any given time) that would have no problem genociding/pogroming the muslims out of Russia. If he had a good reason to risk it, that is.

Have you been paying attention to the birth rates of Muslims in Europe vs the birth rates of native Europeans again? Tsk, tsk, facts mean nothing to liberals and a number of folks on this board.

The world has no choice in this matter, submit or die. The dice have been thrown, we're fighting this war whether we want to or not. The only choice we might still have is the geographical location for the war but with an open border I think that choice has been made for us already.

I'm confused... you quoted Tor's message in almost a disagreeing way... but it sounds like both posts were in complete agreement?

I very well could be reading it wrong.

I'm sorry, I was being a little sarcastic about Tor and I paying attention to things like birth rates when many people think I should be watching that hot new TV show or football or Hey, Something Shiny.

No one says it, but I think it must be said- Islam should be illegal in America. It goes against the 1st Amendment- Freedom of religion, or in the modern case for many: Freedom FROM religion. Islam does not permit letting bygones be bygones. It requires that you follow it's laws and standards, and those who do not are to punished, even if they don't follow the "religion" (we've already established it is far beyond simply a religious ideology)- to that point they are breaking the laws put forth by Islamic law. They won't stop until we have sharia law in the U.S.- at which point I would greatly lay down my life to ensure never happens on my watch!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...

The 14th Amendment makes this applicable to the state and local governments, as well as Congress.

IMO, governments should not make laws about religious establishments and the practice of religious beliefs. This is a one way prohibition. Private citizens and private corporations have the liberty to make religious choices guided by whatever principals they see fit. I believe science is the predominant religious belief of western culture. YMMV

We'll see how long that stands up if we ever have muslim congressmen, even a muslim president- to which has been speculated to potentially occur sometime in our lifetime- er mine at least.
