    Out of curiosity what do you need to amend? I listed 7" 223 and have multi calibers for the unit. Nothing is permanent just the orig applied for specs.

    I ended up with a 7 inch barrel and OAL is 2 inches shorter than listed.

    I have the original 16" barrel that I have to send up to him. Thinking to have have him cut it to 7.5 and thread with 1/2 x 28 to have some more choices.

    Cut the 16" down to the length you have listed and you are GTG. The 7" one is not permanent as you can change uppers. I have a 7" 22 upper. it's not the OAL i applied for, its also not the permanent 223 set up either.
    YMMV.
