Default RTD Security - Barney Fife Alert!

So I like to take my old jeep out around the neighborhood and check things out. I specifically stopped to look at a piece of the RTD Lightrail here in the area.

There were two RTD Security vehicles at the intersection I stopped at. Whatever, I parked and proceeded to walk over and check out the recent modifications to a station.

Mr. Fife (who was leaving the location) slams his Dodge Nitro into Park. (with the pimped wheels and stuff). Jumps out and gets in my face "What can we do for you?" (Hitler mustache and mirror Top Gun Sunglasses)

Nothing, just checking out the recent modifications/fixes to this station.

(this location has had open holes with re-bar sticking out for a long time!)

"Well you can't be here and I ask that you not cross the tracks." "It's an active construction zone!"

(but his Nitro is safe parked on the tracks in the construction zone)

Um ok, so I look around for a moment and go back to my beater jeep.

There are no caution tapes, warning signs or other items to indicate it's an unsafe location. Just some pieces of re-bar laying around.

I cruise the hood a few laps, making sure he's seen me at several light rail crossings.

Man what a douchebag. Must have flunked out of the Academy somewhere else?

I wanted to do and say all kinds of things to this guy, but figured I'd get a trespassing ticket from this dork. Could have been so much different but this guy takes it over the top in the wrong direction in my opinion. I know there have been thefts of copper from the lightrail stations, but man.

I believe someone on the forum work(s)(ed) for RTD security, but can't remember who. PM me if you'd like.

Yep, no biggie, just ranting I guess. Some people. Just makes you a little scared of what they are doing out there sometimes.

RTD has had a lot of copper theft. Even if the guy was a Dick, at least they are patrolling. I don't want to subsidize tweakers stealing the light rail cables.

Completely understand, but guilty until proven innocent is not good for public relations.

Wackenhut is subcontracting to RTD . . . they are the guys in the white SUVs and brown uniforms who cruise the bus stops all day long asking people "Why are you on the bench?" With all due respect, half the bus stops on Colfax have junkies and homeless sleeping in them, and if it wasn't for the "Why are you on the bench" patrol they'd be camping there indefinitely.

Yep, sounds like the guy. I ride the bus to and from work, 9th inbound through GKI gang territory and Colfax home usually. I understand.

Just thought it was an interesting interaction with the security dude, since I don't really look or act like anyone that would be causing trouble.

Two more weeks and RTD is having a Bicycle Tour of the west corridor line, so they bettered get to work on finishing everything up.

If you feel the need to publicly post what you did, I will do so as well. First, the name Wackenhut no longer exists. Secondly, the Dodge Nitros came stock with those wheels. Third, name calling such as "Mr. Fife," "Douchebag," and "dork" to describe one of my co-workers is unnecessary and particularly offensive when you use "Hitler." Its because of that kind bullshit name calling and disrespect that some security officers act like dicks (as do some police officers when you use "Hitler" to describe them). Oh and by the way, the felon with the gun on the light rail train last week didn't particularly "look" like someone that would cause trouble either. Rant over.

I personally dealt with more than 8 G4S RTD Security guards.
Majority of them were as professional as SRVP of S&P500 companies.
