    Default 870 light

Im looking for suggestion on a light setup for a HD 870. I'm not interested in the surefire forearm light. Seems like option are kind of limited.

I like the surefire rifle lights but I'm not sure as far as mounts go. Suggestion?

I was looking at the magpul forgrip with a magpul rail... i currently don't have a light on my 870 as well and will eventually add one.

Primary Arms has a tube mount

I've also used the LaserLyte tri-rail mount but it fits really tight on my shotguns (they're NOT Rem 870 models).

I've got an AE MK2 light.

    Elzetta light mount

    Surefire G2X Taclight

This is the most simple, easiest setup I have ever used. Simple push button momentary switch or twist the cap tight and it will leave the light on.
Best bang for your buck. Solid mount, 200 lumens of surefire light, and right around $100 for the complete setup, I don't think you can go wrong.

this is the setup to use, but instead of the twist G2X, consider the surefire Fury lights. about $112 for 500 lumens--and a click switch. the "tactical" model is a single mode light.

I'd recommend the new Streamlight ProTac HL! 600 lumens for <$70!

I picked up a Magpul short rail section, think like $6. Drilled and tapped it in my 870 forearm.

Easy easy! Had a TRL-1s laying around I put on. Works awesome.

I love that idea and may do that to ad a AFG to the foregrip. Never thought about that!

The only thing I have a problem with the Fury light is that it has a clicky tail cap. I did not want to have to worry about it staying on by accident. If I remove my thumb from it, I want it off. Compare 200 lumens to 500 lumens and see how much brighter it actually is, you might be surprised.

Great light but for a little more money or the same money there is better. I bought the Streamlight ProTac and put it on my AR. I wanted something bright and something that cost less than $100. It is good light, programmable, bright and pretty simple to use once you figure it out. After some further research and a reference (from Jer) I bought one from Greg Mcgee Engineering.

I bought the 1000 lumen option because it was going next to my bed. That light is REALLY bright. Perfect for my bed side light and for camping. He has the 740 lumen option that runs about the same price as the Streamlight ProTac HL. I may eventually sell the ProTac and buy another MTE because I like to keep everything familiar.

When comparing all the lights next to each other there is a slight difference between 200 lumen and the 600 lumen. Yes the 600 lumen is brighter but IMO not that much. Comparing them to the 1000 lumen in brightness and range the MTE hands down blows the others out of the water. YMMV.
