Also, sometimes there is federal grant money for special purpose vehicles. I think about all of the tricked out RV/Tactical command posts that sit in some fleet maintenance or jail parking lot.

Still a waste of taxpayer money, local or federal.

Depends on the person- I've never measured how much money can fit around my waist...

Sorry, I love seeing spelling errors and turning them funny like this!

Yep... if I recall correctly they waited for the dealer to get some work done to the car and snagged him as he was pulling away. No tax dollars in that car just a good acquisition

State Patrol used to use BMW bikes, didn't they? From what I know, they have a high maintenance cost because of the labor to replace a clutch... At least that's what my brother tells me who's a motorcycle officer (not in CO).

No idea, I work on four wheels not two. TFOGGER would know that one. But typically BMW means add a zero at the end of the invoice...

I can't get mad if it's the truth... Yeah, BMWs cost a lot to maintain and fix... hence why most PDs use American cars, much cheaper to maintain and fix (even if they don't last nearly as long or perform as well )
