    Default Short Rant

My truck has No Problem going over Monument Hill in cruise with the A/C on full blast and the 300lbs of tools in the back. IF Your 30 year old 4 banger Toyota that looks like it's overloaded anyway is not capable of the same performance, Please, Stay the hell out of the left lane. It is not the place to be doing 45 mph.

    Thank You, Rant over.

That was the problem, Everybody was in the right lanes passing them. Making it so I couldn't get over and do the same.

amen, I was up there yesterday and I was fit to be tied trying to get around all the junk trying to creep up the hill in the left lane. I do love the look on their face however, when I go by them with my duramax having a unmuffled 5" exhaust screaming in their ear, and spewing black smoke into their cab though.

My dad had a saying for the big "rigs" in the fast lane.

"Pass everything but the gas station" :-)

Best bumper sticker on a slow vehicle. "I'm pedaling as fast as I can!"

Speed limit through there is 75, I had cruise set at, 75. and, I passed a lot of gas stations.

All I'm really saying is, Know the limitations of Your vehichle and drive accordingly.

Welcome to colorado, where the fast lane is the right lane.

I thought they passed that law stating that the left lane is to be used ONLY for passing on a highway with 2 lanes going in one direction.

    They did.

If it's a divided hwy, with 2 lanes going the same direction, and speed limit of 65 or more, you are supposed to stay in the right lane unless passing. I was riding with my son when he was pulled over for this by the State patrol, It was just after they passed this law. They were just giving out warnings then.

I had a strange thing happen a few years ago. I was eastbound on I76 between Brush and Sterling. I was in the right lane doing 75 mph and had a guy in a small Ford Ranger pass me on the left. Didn't think a thing about it as there was very little traffic. He drives on almost out of sight but a few minutes later he had slowed way down in front of me so I passed him and settled back to 75 mph. He stayed slow and was almost out of sight behind me. Another few minutes he passed me and went ahead aways and then slowed way down again. I started flogging my Mazda B2000 pickup up to speed and passed him again but did not slow down till I turned east at Sterling.

The Ranger and the guy driving it did not look out of the ordinary. I guess he had never seen a B2000 and couldn't stop looking at it
