Default Romney would keep Obamacare's teeth

    http://marginalrevolution.com/margin...+Revolution%29

“Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place,” he said in an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” ”One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage.”
For those not keeping score, coverage for preexisting conditions was the teeth of Obamacare - what would destroy the private insurance system and require us to move to single payer. It turns an insurance plan from actual insurance to a wealth transfer from people without preexisting conditions to those with.

Keep healthy. We won't have a very good medical system in a few years, no matter who wins the election.

Or we can be responsible adults and buy our own health insurance.

True, but what is forcing insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions going to do to the cost of your health insurance? It's not going to make it go down, that's for sure.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

Health insurance is never going to get cheaper - fact. That being said, my best friend's wife just died at age 45 from a rare long-term disease. Because of the disease being a "pre-existing condition" she did not qualify for health insurance. He's now having to file bankruptsy because of all the medical bills. People think just because someone passes away, so do all their bills, not true. Had he been able to purchase medical insurance for her - regardless of expense - at least it may have been able to help some. I don't like the idea of having pay "more" for health insurance any more than you guys & gals, but I've seen both sides of it and it's ugly no matter how you see it.

the pre existing conditions issue is the one thing that actually has merit. youre going to be hard pressed to figure out a cheap solution, but there needs to be a solution.

    yeah, buy insurance.
why should anyone cover a pre-existing condition?

it's like not buying flood insurance on your house until after the rain starts.
