The classifier?
UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Now let me explain. I shoot IDPA with my duty gun and rig -- the gun you refer to as "the brick." I hate it now today more than I ever have.
You see, I made it through the first stage of the classifier, then the extractor broke. I drove an hour and a freaking half to shoot this, and didn't get to shoot but a few rounds. I wanted to be classified for the state match, and of course it didn't happen. I don't have a back-up brick; I suppose I could have shot a 1911 or some such, but I want to compete in SSP for the state match. I went home; I didn't want to wait around for hours to shoot the shotgun side match of, what, six rounds.
Later that night, I was getting ready for bed, planning on bringing it to the range on Monday. I make it a habit to look at my calendar before bed because of all the court dates I have scheduled. Upon seeing my calendar, I realized I had to work extra duty / overtime the next day (Sunday), WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING GUN!!!!
So, I had to call the desk SGT, who called Corey at home. Corey met me at the range Sunday afternoon and fixed the brick, then I went straight to the OT gig.
So I worked with a functioning gun, but I'm still unclassified. Man I hate that thing. BTW, is it true S&W uses MIM steel for their extractors? That's what I've been told. Either way, S&W can't make a semi-auto to save my life. I'll take one of their revolvers any day, but their semi-autos are nothing more than overpriced paperweights.
