    This is true!

    I have a slightly older VLTOR and a brand new ACS. Here's some photos with my comparative observations: (hope this helps)

    Side by side: the ACS is exactly an inch longer than the VLTOR with the buttpad.


    ACS cheek real estate:


    VLTOR cheek real estate:


    Side by side from above. You can clearly see the length difference, but the width and cheek real estate seem to be almost identical. Both are very comfortable when mounted and both establish a good cheek weld, but I have only shot the VLTOR (and I loved it).

    As a facially hairy guy I found the best way to deal with the Vltor was to run a strip of tan duct tape over the gap between the stock & storage compartments. Kinda ugly, but it works.

    The PWS enhanced buffer tube is a great tube if you're running a piston carbine. It helps take out carrier tilt seeing as how the carrier already sits on the buffer tube when at rest. And, if you like running a sling at the back of your receiver, it already has two qd sockets.

    Hoping to get it on this weekend and then just wait for the upper to come in. Thanks for the advice.
