Cool I love living in a rural area.

I can walk out of my door and shoot whatever I want.

Today was zeroing the spikes lightweight middy.

A few days ago it was zeroing the wife's 10/22 and a few hundred rounds plinking 4" steel at 100 with mine.(irons)

Every few days I just bust out a gun and go shoot something. My neighbors must love me.

I don't know what I'd do with myself if I lived in the city. Probably just sit in the living room and get some tactical training in with the latest video game.

Who else got to throw some lead down range today? Didn't it feel great?

Yeah, I used to live in a place like that too, and miss it. Now I have to drive a couple miles to get to an appropriate place in the National Forest. Used to be able to just step out my door and shoot into the mega hill behind my house.

    Default No Lead For Me

No shooting for me. Plasma torch cutting sheet metal for the horse barn. Always something else to do. I don't shoot around the house because I don't want the neighbors to even have a clue as to what is here. I shoot in bug out locations...nobody lives there to complain!

If I lived in Cotopaxi, I'd be dredging the river for gold!

Me too, but I'm over 15 miles from the river.

Holy crap, dude. I had to look it up. You live in the middle of freaking nowhere!

I keep trying to convince the wife to move out to somewhere rural like that, but she worries that I might lose my cushy telecommute job and have to actually drive into the city to work. We both grew up in little rural towns in Texas, and neither of us is fond of living in the suburbs.

I just want a place where I can walk out on the back porch and empty some brass before dinner.

There is a great piece of mind to be able to wake out of the house and take game or just kill the hill side.I love it

There is nothing quite like being able to walk outside and do a little shooting whenever you want! I'm going to be taking my newest acquisition (1879 Springfield Trapdoor saddle ring carbine repro by Pedersoli, courtesy of Dixie Gun Works) out to play with in a little while. Love it!

I just need to get myself a clay pigeon launcher so I can sit outside my back door and shoot clays...

I guess it depends on your perspective.

Cotopaxi-Coaldale area is still pretty close to Canon City. Been there many times. Didn't seem very remote to me.
40 minutes to grocery shopping. Dpending on traffic you could spend that amount of time getting to a grocery store in Aurora.

    Middle of nowhere in Colorado?

Try along US Highway 94 east of Punkin Center half way to Aroya
You are looking at almost a 1.5 hour drive one way for groceries or supplies.
Neighbor distances and measured in 10-20 mile increments. (my neighbor 2 houses down is 40 miles) Most of the sparsely populated mountain National Forests have higher capita per mile.... not forgetting all the little mountain towns for some place to eat or get groceries/supplies or talk to another human.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I like living in a rural area because I can pee right off my deck.
