    Default Gas $ Rant

Beware: Pissed, ranting man posting here!

Man, I live in the middle of nowhere where the gas prices are always outrageous.

    I get it:
    1) it costs more to haul it up here
    2) there are 2 gas stations in the entire County
    3) these gas stations know they are the only game around and bend us over
    4) tourists who didn't fill up in town are hosed and have to get it there (see #3)

It's been at $3.79 up here for a week or so for the "cheap stuff" for my old Jeep.

I go to "the city" today and go to fill up like I always do when down there, thinking I'll save a few pennies. It's $3.79 in town. I think WTF? Then I drive up the hill....$3.95 now. Overnight. 16 cent increase overnight. That's 4.2%. What goes up 4.2% overnight?

I have a basic understanding of the oil market (no expert, that's for sure) and get how it works, but this just seems totally f-ed up. 4.2% overnight? A few cents every few days has less of an effect psychologically at least. But no, just jam it all up the butt all at once. Screw them - they need it. They'll pay for it. And no, I'm no "oil company conspiracy guy". It's just the whole situation that pisses me off.

Son of a bitch...gas is our #3 expense for our household now, behind mortgage and food (and it's pretty close with food - scary). Two adults and two kids (third due in 6 weeks).

This is getting crazy man. 4 years ago we were below $2 a gallon, now we're almost $4? In September? Nothing doubles that fast does it? Has ANYTHING doubled in price in the last 4 years? Gold maybe? And what does that say?

And no, I can't drive a fucking Volt or a Pious at 9,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains Mr. Obummer. Asshat.

Rant over. Just pisses off. Can't do a damn thing about it either but pull the RIGHT lever in November. That might help...a little. OK, now rant over. Seriously. <deeeeeep breath>

    I feel your pain Brah!!!
It still is better than back east.
But it can only happen under the current administration.

If things were at a normal increase we would probably be at about$3 a gal.
But with this clown the rate of increase has doubled!!!
Say where in in 8 years of normal increase it took 4!!!

Keep the change-I want my country back!!!!!!!!!!!!

$111.64 to fill the tank on my pickup yesterday.

On a side note... I started using the mid-grade gas this last tank. My 2500HD normally does just under 12MPG on regular unleaded. Same driving (just back and forth to work and a trip down the hill to the metro area) and I got 14.6MPG outta the mid-grade.

$.10 cents per gallon more, but a 3MPG increase. That's an extra 90 miles on a 30 gallon tank for only $3 more per tank.

I want to know why when they say it's going to go up it happens overnight, but when they say it's coming down it takes a month or more and usually spike again twice as much in that period.

How's that for a run on sentence.

There was a time that I would have been happy to pay $111 to fill up my dodge. When it was ~4.20 a gallon my pump price was around 155. I sure wish it was back under a dollar though, same truck would be $35 to fill up.

No wonder our economy is in the shitter. We put all our money into the gas pump and have none left over to boost the local economy with. I'm sure we are stimulating those foreign economies real good though.

Yup, I have noticed a marked difference when I run the primo or midgrade as well.
