Default I hate the AR-15 sometimes

I'm in the process of selling mine. Looking to get out of the platform. A while back I bought a set of almost new M16A1 handguards on a whim. And I find myself, in the wee hours of the morning, unable to sleep with a long day of work ahead, sourcing parts for an A1 build...

I traded my last here not more than a month ago, I now own no ARs. I do still have one, because I have to, but it's not mine and I don't claim it. The bastard stepchild of guns if you will. Switched to the dirty commie weapons, and I'm knee deep in love, and cosmoline.

I hate it when you get a screaming good deal on a single component. Then you might hold out for a week or two but eventually you stay up all night, spend twice as much as you want to and buy everything at once online. The day after is all arrives you take that sweet piece of buyers remorse out for a good day blasting. Just to find out that it shoots just like the other one that you built last time under the same set of circumstances. Man I love guns.

I have gone back and fourth between the 15 and the ak platforms three times in 30 years. Shot FALs for a couple years, mechanically near perfect but too heavy and too much gun. Neither the AK or AR truly satisfy. Total purges magazines, amunition everything, when ive switched platforms. Ive never had a AR that didnt break or jam. I dont like the AR magazine and I dont like the extractor. I hate cleaning them. The AKs run but Its not a precision platform. Im mostly 5.45 now with one 30. I went 5.45 in 2001. Now that im getting old and my eyes are going I need optics. You can get optics on a ak but it ruins their essence. Thinking I need a SCAR. Looking back I wish I had stuck with the ARs. Their faults are not pleasing but their accuracy and ability to mount optics in a ergonomic fashion get the job done. When I think about trading in my East German bakelites for some other magazine i get nauseous.

I have a stripped A1 upper I would love to sell.

The only thing I really dislike about them is how damn filthy they get with the direct gas impingement system like I have. Other than that no complaints. I think the ergonomics are awesome
