When a friend is lost

I hate that damned Rainbow Bridge! It always kills me.

We used to do Greenies but discontinued due to one of our dogs choking on the last bit once to keep the other one from getting it. I hate reading stuff like this and feel awful for you guys. I'm sure my Gixxer is also welcoming her and she's a wonderful & playful companion to other dogs.

I had typed a warning in yesterdays post and deleted it prior to posting. We have learned over the past two weeks that most of the pet toys sold have warning labels for good reason. Most of those pet toys are not safe. It seems that our Vet does quite a few procedures each week to remove things from stomachs of dogs.
In our case the broken plastic bone moved past the stomach and did damage that just could not be fixed, and while I've lost count I think we were eight surgeries later trying to keep her around. I somewhat regret what we put her through, but at the same time I am glad we were able to do what we did. It is comforting to know that we did everything possible to keep her alive.
So please be cautious with those dog toys. I sit here tonight writing this less one very special Boston Terrier.
