Manning looked nervious and scared going into the game and played like crap. No one expected that. Bad bad INT's into double coverage.

    I noticed several things-
-Too bad it's also college football season right now, they had to pick up the replacement refs from High School leagues... when Matt Ryan is influencing when they throw a flag that's not a good thing. Pay the refs what they want, it's not like they're demanding $16million contracts (like No-Show Moreno, which brings me to my next point...)
-No Show Moreno: hold on to the damn ball- you have one job to do and you can't do it!? For every one yard gain you had last night, McGahee had 4!
-Peyton, try to remember, our team was wearing the white jerseys, not red.
-Finally, I may not be the biggest sports fan, but after a loss (and the defense kind of losing their edge in the end) I'm still a Broncos fan til I die. And all in all, I'm over it, it doesn't really affect my life too much, so it's not a huge reason to be upset.

You can't gate on the defense too much. Anytime a team gives up FOUR turnovers in a quarter and the defense manages to hold it to a 10pt turn around you have to give them credit. That defense spent a LOT of time on the field last night because the offense didn't do them any favors so I won't fault them for last night's game at all. I would like to see them get off the field on 3rd down (going back to last week too) but we're talking about one of the best 3rd down teams in the league who is just handed the ball 4 times to start the game. The amount of time the defense was forced to spend on the field in the 1st half is just recipe for disaster so I will give credit where credit is due for keeping the Falcons to 10pts on four turnovers. The fact that Denver still had a chance to win it near the end speaks to the work the defense did with that disaster they were handed. They got off when they needed to down the line and Denver had an opportunity late which is rare in a -4 turnover game. Losses suck but I will take this one early in the season on a team that was riding a little too high after week 1 IMO. This will force them ALL to work harder, watch more tape and concentrate more from here on out. Hell, even after all of that plus being on the road they only lost by 6 so no reason to hang their head. No injuries and it wasn't a blowout. 1-1 with half of the league in a horrible division isn't reason to give up on them by any stretch of the imagination.

    We STILL have Peyton Manning!

Tell me about it! I just finally acquired this year's tag the other day so now they likely won't win another game this season. You can blame me.

The thing that really gets me is who we gave up in that draft to get him and I remember it like it was yesterday because I was SO pissed off. Brian Orakpo. I kept thinking the Bills (who were just ahead of us at #11) were going to take him because they needed a DE plus he was predicted to go in the top 5. Instead he slips all the way to 11 where I'm almost certain the Bills are going to take him. Instead, they take Aaron Maybin (who they cut two years later) and I'm floored. I can't believe my eyes. This top 5 pro-ready DE has fallen into our laps at pick 12 and all that's left is to make the announcement. I see the commissioner walking across the stage within 2min of being on the clock so the Denver brass surely agrees with me with such a quick pick. Then, the announcement 'With the 12th pick the Denver Broncos select.... Knowshon Moreno, running back, Georgia' WTF?!? We had SO many RB's at the time of that pick. Of course Washington wasted NO time snapping him up at pick #13 and he went to the pro bowl his first year. Just one of MANY shit moves under Douche McDaniels. We had a need for defense at the time and he was EASILY the best player at that position (for those who argue you don't draft for need you take the best available player) so there was NO reason to not pick him. So now, every time I see Moreno cough up the ball I cringe at the thought of what could have been. He gives me plenty of opportunities to reminisce too. Granted, Orakpo is now injured but I would still take what he's done to this point over what Knowshon has done to this point.
