Just keep in mind that this isn't about guns, its about gun owners.

Gun owners (and especially those that jump through the legal hoops to actually carry one of the evil things) tend to be people that don't agree with other liberal ideological sacred cows. Outlaw guns on campus and you keep at least a handful of troglodyte white "rethuglican" hate filled conservatives off campus.
