Sifu
Broken pelvis during kung fu class. Got my feet knocked out from under me and being the skinny guy that I am, landed right on the big "ear" looking part of my pelvis on the left side. Cracked the top of it right off. Went through rank test and classes for the next 2 weeks, focusing on acrobatics (dive rolls, cartwheels, etc on a concrete & tile floor) all the while not knowing it was broken. Finally had acupuncture to fix it. Massaging the bone back into place was almost worse than breaking it in the first place.
Then almost exactly a month later I tore the ligaments of my right ankle both on the inside and outside of my right ankle. Sprained/torn so bad that if I had broken it, it would have healed about twice as fast.
In 8th grade I wrecked my bicycle on the street going about 35mph. The thick part of my glasses that sits behind my ear was the only thing that saved my face from being ripped off. It had landed under my cheek bone and was ground paper thin by the time I came-to.
Compressed vertebrae in high school from squatting wrong. Months of chiropractic and therapy.
Oxygen deprivation was awful too. Raced a friend of mine underwater almost 50 meters as fast as I could. As soon as I came up from underwater, I had the worst headache I've ever had. My head literally felt like it was splitting open. I threw up over 20 times before I made it home. Had to pull over about every minute on the way home (yeah, drove myself home) to vomit and get my vision back. Spent the whole night on the bathroom floor, with only enough energy to pull myself up to the toilet to puke again and again. For the next week or so, I had headaches like I couldn't believe.
My final kung fu test to become a teacher. A full day's worth of pain worse than anything I could have ever imagined prior. Within the first 10 minutes, I was more tired and in more pain that I had ever been in previously. It literally almost killed me.
