    Default Computer theft

My aunts husband died and she went to visit with relatives for a bit. Their house was empty. (Florida). It got broken into, the only thing taken was the computer. Soon after everybody on her e-mail contact list was contacted via e-mail with the "im in spain, ive been mugged and have no money" scam.
Are times such that the most valuble item in a house is the personal info on the PC?

It is probably the only thing that can not be reported as stolen..

If people would use the 'locking' feature on things their personal info wouldn't be so readily available..

My boss was hard headed about it and refused to use it on his devices.. then he lost his Ipad.. and began spamming people.. including judges and courts.. Now it all locks and his PW's are a LOT more difficult..
