    Default Waiting on FFL?

I ordered a gun from Bud’s (since the dealer quoted me $1 less than MSRP) and had it shipped to that dealer/local shooting range. Normally I would avoid this place because their FFL fee is $30 (instead of the normal $Free to $25), but I have a $250 gift certificate to the place. It’s kind of an uppity country club and I don’t like the attitude at all.

Anyway, it was delivered on Tuesday morning. I called them at 1400 in the afternoon to ask if I could come pick it up & the guy said no, it wasn’t in the system & he’d call me when it was. I called back today at 1300 and got the same answer. I asked when I could expect to pick up my gun & he (somewhat rudely) said they were busy and would call me when it was ready. I’m not quite sure what to do…can’t take that long to type a serial number into their system/log book whatever. Every other time I've dealt with an FFL I had the gun same day.

Wondering if the high $30 ffl fee is for storing my gun all these extra days...

    Ideas?

Normally I hear back on the day it was delivered. i have never heard the term "In the system" before.

The FFL i work with works directly out of his home.

Show up. Ask for your gun nicely. Harder to tell you 'no' or 'wait' in person.
Be polite. They have the gun and right or wrong, they can delay or deny the transfer.
If an in-person visit is not sufficient to have the firearm released to you, then this may be one of the few times in life that the ATF is the appropriate venue to express your concerns.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!

It depends if this FFL considers online gun order transfers a favorable income. I have run in to a few FFLs who don't like to do transfers as they have told me "I could have gotten you a good price."

Not sure why the attitude, they don't have to do really anything, run your check, log you S# and charge you. It is easy income not sure why some FFLs take offense to it.......

You can leave your honest feedback on Buds Gun Shop. Notice how they have "preferred" level FFLs listed??

This shop is not on a preferred status maybe they will get less transfer to them and then if they care they can read the bad reviews and change their policies or if they don't care lost business on their part.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"

I've used buds several times at a couple of different ffl's here in town, it has gone from ups to my hands in less than an hour.(with the background check taking most of that time) you are getting jerked around. what is the shops name? maybe someone here can help.ETA:some shops don't like to do transfers because they are mad you didn't let them hose you, and they feel they are losing out imho.

This I do not understand. If you do not want to do transfers, say so. Say '$20 on used guns $60 on new.' Do not say 'sure, $30' then get an attitude.

Exactly! Not like you have to even do the transfer. Not sure how buds does it, if they add you automatically if you do one transfer with them or not. I do know on Gunbroker you have to "join" the FFL network.

It has nothing to do with Buds. Buds orders the gun from where-ever they are getting what you purchased, then repackages it when it gets to them, then sends it to the FFL. At Firing Line, we process all transfers at $30, within 24 hours, during the week. We ask that you wait until we call you to pick it up, as that means everything is done at our end. If it comes in Friday, you may have to wait until Monday after 5pm.
