Default How to have your neighbor's house ransacked

Illinois Cops Give Family Ten Minutes Between Delivery of Mysterious Marijuana package and No-Knock Drug Raid.

According to the Lake County News-Sun, last Friday a family in the village of Beach Park, Illinois was given a ten minute window between the postal delivery of a mysterious, unsolicited package — said to contain marijuana — and a no-knock drug raid that involved the family tied up, with guns pointed at their faces, while their home was ransacked by police.

    Default Armed Revolt

Yeah I figure armed revolt is coming. I act like it already has. Stocking up on the basics. We haven't had a real war in the US since the 1860's. Rule of law and decency are just talk. Eventually a SWAT team will accidently kill a baby with a flashbang or something stupid like that and the whole thing will explode. So whats good on American Idol tonite?

Holy shit! So it seems like a setup? That's why I always double check packages that are delivered, if it's not my address then I'm not accepting. Jacked up!

The UPS guy doesn't wait for acceptance in most cases. He drops the packages and runs, often without even ringing the doorbell. I work from home, so I'm always there, but I have to rely on the dogs to let me know someone dropped a package on the doorstep.

Didn't a SWAT guy or two get shot raiding the wrong house a few years back?

I had a neighbor couple houses away from me that was dealing drugs for a while. He would tell his customers a house number a couple houses away from his. He would then run out in the street when the customer showed up. Several of us in the neighborhood had problems because of this. We started a general harassment campaign including the cops to get him to quit dealing. He finally quit dealing when his kid got busted.

The package delivered to the wrong house could have been something like that. A nearby dealer could have been planning picking up the package if no one showed up with a badge.

    1) how do we know that the package WASN'T for them?

    2) don't know what the warrant was for. I doubt they got the warrant in 10 minutes so they had it before the package was delivered, possibly for another charge(s).

    3) everyone that talks to the news is innocent, didn't you know that? It's a fool proof test for determining innocence.

Technically yes... Innocent until proven guilty. That means that the state (city, county, country) must prove beyond a reasonable doubt the individual's guilt, not the individual must prove their innocence.
