Default Drifted the Upper Kenai River yesterday

I have fished in a lot of shitty weather, yesterday was by far the worst. Wind gusting to 25, pouring rain, and about 50 degrees. My mother and I hired a guide and drifted the upper Kenai, the fishing was pretty good. I have caught a lot of really big trout, so pretty much over 20"'s they become "photo worth"! I was using an Orvis 5wt, a little light, especially hooking some pretty old sockeys, but it what a blast.

Standing in the river fly fishing reminded me of how much I enjoy it. When I get home I will have to go out and do some fishing. Anyone wants to go or h a good place, give me a shout.

I went fishing on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers earlier this summer. It was a blast, though I didn't catch many fish. It is definately something that needs to be experienced. Congrats on the nice fish.

Very cool... my mom got to go up to Kenai years ago (did you fly a puddle jumper out of Homer, too?) and said it was gorgeous, with great fishing! There are some great fishing holes down near Lake City/Montrose I've heard of, but I'm not really a fisherman, so I couldn't say for sure exactly where.

Nice looking bows. I like the Kenai peninsula this time of the year. Way less people.

Bitch! Nice fish! My Dad said Seward flooded today. He's stuck between north and south road closures at mile 6. Stay dry! (yea right)
