    The Flag Code also prohibits misuse of the flag such as:
    - wearing the flag as clothing (e.g. every Olympic athlete since we have competed in the games);
    - using the flag for advertising (e.g. every sale ad mailed to your house in July); and
    - printing the flag on anything made to be readily disposed of (e.g. paper plates, flyers, soda cups from McDonald's).

    We abuse the flag daily in this country. That doesn't make it right, but it is so common we don't even notice it.

    That said, I agree this particular misuse of the flag by none other than the President of the United States, is disgusting and ultimately disrespectful.

    This sums it up for me as to why I put up THE flag, OUR flag:

    It's not a flag. It's a painting of a flag.

    Look at the OP, that is a flag.

    The other one later in the thread is a painting.

    Techincally it's not an American Flag by law, although it looks really close to one. It is however gay, as gay gets.

    United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 — The Flag

    §1. Flag; stripes and stars on
    The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be forty-eight stars [Note: Sec. 2 provides for additional stars; Today the flag has fifty stars representing the fifty states — Webmaster], white in a blue field

    Read the quote in the very first post. They aren't selling flags.

    I don't think it matters that it isn't actually a cloth flag. It is a perverted representation of the American Flag. Although it may not burn in such a dramatic manner.

    I agree about the intent, but it's not an actual flag.

    They did have an actual flag like this made at one time. There was some big blow-up in Florida about it I believe when it was flown somewhere.
