If something goes wrong, what people on here "feel" means jack shit. Each person is responsible for knowing the laws, and following them. If doesn't matter if they are on this site or not, each individual is responsible for knowing the laws for the hobby/task/job/etc they enjoy or partake in.
Have you ever drove over the speed limit? Did you turn yourself in? You KNEW you broke the law, but you let it slide? Obviously you didn't care, what if you told your wife about it and she didn't care either? OMG, your home is FULL of people who don't care about the LAW!!!!!
But you are only worried about craigslist rules...and that people on here don't care if you break them. They aren't the LAW, they are simply a sites rules, ones which are broken every single day, people get scammed and lose money on there every single day. That is the risk of craigslist, it's just the way it is.
I can assure you, just about every "active" member on this site would be more knowledgeable on firearm laws than 80%+ of the cops out there enforcing those laws. I have helped 2 cops learn that I am not required to alert them to the fact that I have a CCW or a weapon in the vehicle, and went further to tell them they should assume ALL people have one, not to expect the good guys to let them know they have one.
Now, you can be assured people on here would definitely send a message to someone who had an illegal conversion, or SBR or SBS or VFG on a pistol etc etc in hopes to help them avoid legal problems. But you won't see anyone throwing a pissy fit if their ad is cross referenced on craigslist....more over it is like a badge of honor if you can get your ad to last a while on there since people flag it all the time. I'm impressed if they last more than a few hours.
