A grit is never found alone, it always brings friends. Mostly to your breakfast plate in the south. I think it's coarsely ground corn. Boiled, then Covered in butter and allowed to congeal to just the right consistency a cheap, tasty breakfast filler.

Along those lines...What the hell is "white gravy" and why on earth would someone want gravy for breakfast? I would venture to say that demanding neck gravy for breakfast is what leads to many heart attacks.

It true y'all can get away with any insult as long as you end it with "Bless your heart"?

What kind of questions do you even ask a person from the north?
How can you ever trust a feller what never had a red beer?

Ask someone from NY a question and the answer will be "I don't give a shit", if you even get an answer at all.

    (I'm from NY...)

No, it's a way to insult someone not present. "bless his heart" or "bless her heart". Bless your heart was what your grandmother would say to you when you were hurt and crying. It's a pity phrase.

What's a red beer? Red Dog? Killian's Irish Red?

What's the deal with the Ohio thing? I see all kinds of stuff like "I [picture of Ohio] SC", GOBK2OH license plates, etc all over the place. Is it like the great migration of Californians into CO back when?
