Contrary to popular belief, you grow INTO allergies, not out of them. They usually worsen with each new encounter, so if you encounter this again, your reaction will be more severe. Keep that epi-pen with you!
Strange you say that. I grew up horribly allergic to cats, but after 4 years with my girlfriend->fiance->Wife's cat, I'm not nearly as allergic to them anymore. The only issue I have now, is if I touch my eyes after petting him, I get puffy/itchy.
My cousin just found out that he is allergic to shellfsih. His wife has been making clam chowder and various other clam dishes over the last 4 years, but the last two times has made him throw up, violently, just a few hours after consuming.
I've got that one. Violent headache soon followed by hugging the porcelain.
