At the time the Officer did not know what the object was that was being waved at him. He perceived a threat and acted on it. Well done.

When cornered by a one legged man with only one arm in a wheelchair, you do what any brave well trained police officer should do...I mean the guy was seriously a threat to our entire society!

I certainly hope tese are just jokes in bad form, because any one of us would probably do the same thing in a similar situation.

While hey are rare, when I have an encounter with an LEO, I always open my hands wide and keep them away from my body to avoid any perception I'm a threat to the officer. It's kept me alive so far.

Agreed. Appropriate actions by the LEO to an unfortunate situation.
