Default Any experiance with Remington Customer service?

I was hoping that some of you have had some exp with Remington's customer service dept. I have a Gun that needs to have some warranty work done to it and they sent me an overnight shipping label and other req'd materials. However, during my preparations to send it in I have looked high and low for my receipt and cannot find it anywhere.

On the slip they sent me it says to send in proof of purchase with the gun, given my situation, My question is, Have any of you sent in a firearm to them? and if so, do you have any idea on how strict they are with that policy? What other options might i have?

Its a brand new gun and it is clearly manufacturers a defect. It would be a horrible shame if Remington was unwilling to stand by something they made poorly because of a technicality. Why cant they be more like springfield with their warranty?

On a side note i had a springfield 1911 that i was having issues with, that i had bought used from a member on rmgo and i called Springfield, getting ready for a battle since it was a used gun and i was not the original purchaser, but they said no problem, and reiterated that they back all their guns, no matter how far down the line you bought it, and not only did they fix the problems that i sent it in for, but they also replaced 3 or 4 different parts that were unrelated to my claim that i sent it in for, just because the smith working said that "they were a little worn and could stand to be replaced" and made a note of it on the work invoice. I'm not usually one to advertise, but when a company goes above and beyond what is unfortunately sometimes the relative norm, I like to mention it when it is relevant.

Anyhow, I'll get off my soap box now, and if anyone has any information for me, past exp's, word of mouth, what i might expect, I would be grateful. Im just trying to get an idea before I call them and tell them I cant find the receipt.....

Send the gun it with a letter explaining you cannot locate the receipt, however you have contacted the place of purchase to see about getting a copy. if there are any issues they can contact the FFL for verification.
Easy to do, in the mean time get that gun back to the mfg.

I've had terrible experiences with Remington's customer service....so much so that I'm reluctant to buy another Remington firearm.

I bought a gun recently and the gal checking me out warned me to photocopy the receipt because it WILL fade away.
