    Default coated steel cases

Does the following seem plausible: My new homebuilt AR does fine with brass cased ammo, but with the old Wolf lacquer coated ammo it ejects fine, but does not chamber the next round. Could this mean that so much force is expended pulling out the steel cases (the extractor marks are quite pronounced) that the bolt does not get quite far enough back to engage the new round? Would the new Wolf polymer coated ammo be more congenial in this regard?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

The Wolf Military Classic (lacquered) is absolute junk. The Poly should work better, but no promises. There are extractor spring upgrades as well as other things you can change to help cycle properly (buffers and springs). Make sure it is also not the magazine with the problem.

If you really want your weapon to function 100% of the time, you may want to find an ammo that it likes eve if it cost more.

PS: If you have a bunch of Wolf that will not work; you can ship it back to them for an exchange.

Mine work great with the zinc coated steel cased ammo... like Silver Bear. The lacquer-coated green stuff runs horribly for me. Brass is always a safe bet.
