yep, would be the same as saying everyone who rides a harley is a overweight, toothless, unbathed alcoholic that is afraid to speed because they lost their drivers licence after their fourth dui, or everyone who owns a millitary style rifle is a crazed wacko gunnut is it not? sorry to get up and rant here but as a sportbike rider well into my 30's (that started riding them when I was 17) I get tired of hearing this you have a "crotch rocket" you are a idiot your going to set scraped up off the pavement, and the list goes on and on crap!

While it might not be true of all sport bike riders, look at the sport bike rider killed in Aurora when he crashed into a car after running a red light riding a wheelie showing off with 2 other "friends" who ran after he crashed. I've seen more reckless & irresponsible stunts pulled by sport riders than any other single style of bike riders & have picked up/worked on more sport riders than any other group of riders.

Sport bike riders have a bad reputation just like Harley riders have that ear hurting loud pipes & tough guy "biker" reputation.

The forum that goes for rides is a Kawasaki forum & I ride a Kaw 1600 .

I'm not stereotyping anybody, I have nothing against any particular kind of bike, or the people who own/ride them. Everyone has their preference, as I have mine. I've been riding 37 years.

The topic was about "riding like a moron", and to me riding ANY motorcycle recklessly on public roads like you're in some kind of "extreme" competition, endangering yourself and others, IS "riding like a moron". And it's most often the combination of crotch rockets/sport bikes and teenagers, correct? Not always, all ages of people do stupid shit on everything, but it's the most common. We've all done it, but it seems that to some it's a constant-need-for-attention thing, and they're the scary ones.

Doing that stuff on a closed track or other area is just fine. But doing it in places where others can get hurt, is "riding like a moron". Like shooting guns in the air. JMHO.

The topic of MY POST that you were complaining about!!! NOT the original topic of the thread! How hard is that to figure out? You must be one of those people that just gotta argue about any damn thing.

Thats pretty damn close to stereotyping....

Saying that some people ride like a moron is completely true. And its supposed to be broad, "moron" is a lot like common sense.. if it needs explained, they might very well be talking about your style of riding.

If your taking offense to people not wanting to travel with others that endanger everybodies saftey..... Then please don't meet me on the road. I hate getting insurance cards from dead people, they're all gooey.

I asked a simple question.... what kind of ride is it... i meant, is it dirt, adventure, street cruising, or sportbike riding, all require different types of bikes. You should see whats implied, even if you werent biased, "crotch rockets" and "ride like a moron" were lumped together, making it obvious to me, that a harley rider was getting a jab in.

Perhaps i was asking because i didnt want ot get held back by the slow harleys or get behind an oil streak because of safety reasons....
