I'm guessing the South Metro truck was parked that way intentionally...just to make sure he wasn't blocked in if he had to bail for an emergency.

For those that drive those extra long trucks, whats the best way to park them? Either way I think they'll be taking up 2 spots, so the above doesn't look unreasonable.

I wish I would have thought to take a picture but I saw a crew cab, long bed F250 parked in a parking garage in a spot marked "compact cars only." Half the truck was literally hanging out the back of the spot and blocking one of the two drive lanes between the parking spots.

and or access the rear for equipment if needed.

I have a crew cab truck, I tend to park long in a spot because if I try and make it fit in one single spot, someone will still park behind me in that small space and I can't load it up at home depot.

That was at that big Justice Center in Castle Rock, where the DCSO is. The back of the lot is right behind him, he could have backed that thing right up to the curb and not blocked traffic, and still got out easily. You can see the curb in the pic.
