I saw 3 trucks today parked with their ass in the space behind them so that a car wouldn't fit in the space. This is a tough one. I consistently do that because my truck would stick out into the driving lane if I put the bed in the spot. Of course I park as far out in the lot as possible, or back into a landscaped area when possible. I pull through because I've been trained to 'combat park.' If anything crazy happened I can leave without needing to back up, therefore not getting trapped waiting to reverse to leave.

This guy was right in front in the 2nd space. If you pull the truck straight in the bed sticks out into the road, so what difference does it make? Easy solution though, don't park in the first few spaces and be a selfish bastard

Saw a guy yesterday park his pickup taking up 4 spaces in the first 2 rows of spots.

If the bed sticks out in the road it obstructs the road and those attempting to drive, or emergency vehicles that may need the entire roadway just to navigate a parking lot. Most angled and perpendicular spaces are considered to be between 10 and 18 feet long, the truck I drive is approximately 22 feet long. Many parking lots barely accommodate vehicles driving both directions between rows of parked cars. Add in the extra footage of a truck bed hanging out into the lane and you on exacerbate the situation. Plus pedestrians are forced to walk further in the driving lane when they have to walk around the same truck bed. With the impatience of most drivers, I think taking a little more of the parking lot is a better choice than taking part of the road, my truck, their car and pedestrians are all safer. Maybe driving trucks for so long gives me a different outlook on it and I doubt anyone's mind will be changed. But, if the guy can't put it in the center of the spot give 'em hell.

That's fine, just don't park in the front of the lot if you're going to take up several spaces.

What if I need to use my Handicap hang tag? Home depot nearest me, has no handicap parking near the materials area of the store, and I drive crew cab long bed.

And home depot has stupid "Contractor" parking and "Contractor Trailer Parking", which I never see anyone using with trailers...

Complain to HD that there are no handicap spaces at your preferred entrance?

Park in the empty contractor spots anyway. Nobody every uses them and what is the worst that can happen? they ask you to take your business to Lowes?

Park there anyway, or as close to the door as you want. If anybody gives you shit, dick-punch them with your cane and point to the hangtag! Then ask them WTF are the handicap spaces for that area.

Handicapped people need to use a special entrance. You know, kind of like colored folks had to do way back then.

Maybe mention that to the manager at Home Depot.

While I may not be a contractor elsewhere, I am a contractor every single time I'm looking for a parking spot at Home Depot.
