    Default Residency/military/gun law question

    Background:
I did a little homework and like CO, you are not required to register anything and no permit is necessary to own anything (non-NFA) in North Carolina. You ARE however required to get a Pistol Purchase Permit from your Sheriff's office to buy a handgun (new permit for every one you buy) regardless of whether you're purchasing from an FFL or private party or even having it gifted to you.
Now, being as I'm stationed here, not "living" here, I still retain CO residency, meaning that if I can't get around the PPP thing here I can always save my gun purchases for leave and such and legally purchase in CO.

    Question:
Does this permit crap apply to me, or do I fall under CO purchase laws?

Military ID with orders allows you in state privledges and difficulties for the state you are stationed in. Basically, you will be treated like any other North Carolina/Bragg resident. Their state, their rules.

...put in your 4187 for RASP again yet??? (WA state is easy to purchase in and allows supressors now. Just sayin'. Although if you go to 75th, you'll get plenty of time with supressors)

Lame. Well, thanks for the clarification guys.

Not yet... just finished my "re-integration" bullsh!t yesterday, haven't gotten an opportunity to do really anything. I haven't even figured out where my CIB orders are yet. But its very very high on the list.

It's only gay because you're not in Colorado any more.

...And because you made eye contact during the reach around.

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."
