For the uninitiated: A very short excerpt directly from Osama Bin Laden's letters to America:
You obviously consider Osama more than a psychopathic murderer. Are you really gonna get defensive for the Muslims? How is it that people who hate religion began to make excuses for people who hate us. We attack them because they are a threat to us. period. Don't take my word for it. Just listen to them. They condemn themselves. People have used religion to excuse evil since forever. Wasn't right then and ain't right now.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm arguing against this insane notion that 9/11, et al. is a result of the entire Muslim world hating us for being non-believers. I don't think anything of OBL; I quoted his letter to us so you can see in their own words why they did it. Take emotion out of it for a second and apply some reason. You really think there are billions of people who are just inherently evil and using religion as an excuse? Folks need to turn off the damn TV for five minutes and learn to think for themselves instead of always letting someone do it for them.

I do believe everyone one is inherently evil. Including myself. I don't buy into the argument that everyone is basically good but circumstances have led them to make bad decisions. I believe that responsibility falls upon the shoulders of each and everyone of us to discipline ourselves to do the right thing.

To say that OBL is speaking for "them" shows you share a lot of the same frustrations as other Americans. He speaks for himself. The rantings of a madman much like our own home grown terrorists, McVeigh and Kaczynski. Frankly I don't separate the evils perpetrated by Christians or Muslims. It's born of his own sinful nature, not religion. We didn't go to war against the countries that raised the 9/11 killers. We went against the mastermind and his network.

You can apply all the reason you want, but how do you combat all the emotion that is in the ME? That's a honest question I have. I don't own a TV and yes I believe the majority of people today, whatever religion they may claim to believe in that use religion to justify something that is wrong. Someone I admire once told me, when two people argue they forget that they both can't be right, but they both can be wrong. Perfect explanation for the Crusades. And I take exception to the thinking that the people involved in the Crusades were the followers of what is right. Regardless of context. Plenty of Christians had nothing to do with the Inquisition, Crusades, ect. Lot's of Muslims have nothing to do with the terrorism that is the focus of the moment. I welcome all peace loving Muslims who will unequivocally condemn the slaughter of innocents, practice tolerance to other religions, allow the freedoms that benefit the individual. Sounds a lot like western civilization to me. All our struggles here in US, Canada, Europe, ect. is just maintenance. The Middle East has yet to take responsibility for their own actions and pull themselves out of the stone age. I hope they succeed.

Religion, like sexual orientation, should be behind closed doors. If I do not beleive as you do, I do not want to hear about it.

Far too much "sharing". Too many folks now feel "empowered" to speak whatever nonsense pops into their tiny heads when they should just keep it to themselves.

We need to remember that the Islamist is not a short-term thinker/planner like most Americans.

Islam has a plan for the entire world and they have many paths to achieve their goal, one path is war, another path is the birthrate. The birthrate is working in Europe and they've already started the birthrate here.

Generally speaking we think Islam is stupid, many of its followers are stupid but do not underestimate the leadership, the leadership isn't stupid and they are ruthless to boot. Unfortunately the USA hasn't had a real leader in a few decades to combat Islamic leadership, our enemies see this and take advantage of it.

Sharia law and The Constitution of these United States are incompatible. What are you going to do when our state legislature brings elements of Sharia law to fruition and forces Sharia on you?
