I take it your dog is the adorable Rott? We've done this a few times, strays running around, we pull them off the street so they don't get hit by a car.
Although a buddy of mine used to have a huskey and he would always tell people who grabbed his dog whenever he went for a run to just let him go, he'll come home, eventually.

Yeah, the Rott is our Harry. It's funny - the little Bassett has been chasing him around. These two strays don't have much street-smarts, definitely would get hit by traffic. Gotta find the owners... the missus is already talking about having four dogs
