    Default My Newest Build

My new build. Been waiting on the barrel FSB combo FOR-EVV-ERR. Was back-ordered, came in 2 weeks ago. Had to wait for an open slot with BPTactical before I could finish the build, as its a 14.5" Barrel. The goal of the build was to build a rifle that was very durable while being very lightweight.

    Specs:
    PSA Lower
    PSA LPK
Magpul Milspec MOE Stock, Grip and Enhanced Trigger Guard in FDE
Spikes American Flag Logo M4 upper
Daniel Defense 14.5" Mid-length gas pencil profile barrel and F-Marked FSB
    YHM 5M1 Muzzle Brake
Midwest Mid-length SS Series free-float handguard in FDE
    Troy Bi-Optic Fixed BUIS
Aimpoint H1 on Daniel Defense High mount, lower 1/3 co-witness
    CMMG Semi Auto Bolt.
    GG&G quick detach backplate

Rifle comes in at 6.09lbs bare, or 6.5lbs with BUIS, H1 and an empty PMAG on it.

    The Rifle:

Thanks, this is my third, and I have a couple in the works.

My old go-to AR is a sweet match-grade AR, completely tricked out, but it was just too damn heavy for some uses. This was my complete contrast AR. Huge difference between 10.x lbs and 6 lbs.

Yeah ten pounds is one heavy mother. My build is going to be on the light side also, so how do you like the MI handguard?

Between other builds (for me or friends) and this one I've used various MI guards on 6 rifles now. IMO they are top notch. Great quality, really good prices, and the SS series are the lightest metal free float guards you can get. Even the T-series quad rails are lighter than most of the competition.

Good to hear as the upper I bought was complete and I am looking to swap out the stock carbine hand guard with something else. Not a free float as I don't want to hassle taking the front sight off and replacing it but something that works better for my hands. I will check them out.

All I can say, is free float is the way to go IMHO. Taking the FSB and brake/hider off (assuming it isn't pinned and welded) is very easy. I'd be happy to show you how if you like.

Hmmm I will have to keep that in mind. I should have the upper next week and then the project will be close to finished. Thanks.
