    have the same setup as above. 5 minutes worth of work to the stock and have a consistent machine! Even after 50 rounds and a burning barrel still holds a group. A little low but a group none the less.

    First 4 rounds.

    I'd consider the 5R too, they are very accurate.

    you will also have to add a recoil pad to most Rem 700s (they come stock with no slip pads)
    trigger is a must right away
    the value in the 5r is the heavy bull barrel (factory inletted stock) and threading
    I have the Rem 700 VSF in 308 and I am not a fan of the HS stock
