I'd consider the 5R too, they are very accurate.
you will also have to add a recoil pad to most Rem 700s (they come stock with no slip pads)
trigger is a must right away
the value in the 5r is the heavy bull barrel (factory inletted stock) and threading
I have the Rem 700 VSF in 308 and I am not a fan of the HS stock
