    Default Garden....late

-with a light dusting of snow last night, a forecast for 26* tonight, and snow forecast for tomorrow morning, I bought three 10x25' plastic drop clothes to cover things with (there are still hundreds of tomatoes on the vine, many peppers, countless squash, Etc.). In spite of that, we did a little harvest this morning....just in case. Here's a few pic's from ten minutes ago:

Vary nice grub!! Did you throw a heater in there with em, so they survive the night??

What kind of ingredients you throw in that?

-the photos where taken before it was finished but it basically involves a 12" cast-iron pan, low heat, and the following:

-sautee onions then add the following:

    *squash
    *bell peppers
    *basil
    *tomatoes
    *eggplant
    *garlic
*black olives (added after the photo was taken)

Let simmer until things fall apart, add a tad bit of black pepper, uncork a Guinness and have at it.

The Swiss chard in the adjoining pan was for the wife's chard-on-fried-egg fetish...I don't partake in that.

If we lose it all tonight we've still had a fantastic harvest this year but we're trying to save the many that are still on the plants. There's several dozen squash that are half-grown, probably close to 200 tomatoes, several dozen peppers, a handful of cucumber, Etc. It'd be nice to save some of it but if we lose it, it's been a bountiful year.

Shouldn't need a heater. We kept tomatos alive enough to ripen last year with a clear tarp. Worked good.

As is. And I probably should have eaten less, I feel like a beach ball.
