    Default CA Assembly Bill 29x

Could this happen here? After one of the biggest fire season in CO history, could the CO politicians try to pull another fee/tax out of their hats?

Assembly Bill 29x requires homeowners in State Responsibility Areas to pay a fire tax of $150 annually, but they do not receive any additional fire protection.

That "tax" is already being billed to you, by your insurance co.

I don't see it happening here- some of your property tax already goes to local FD, plus various forms of grants and budgets within different municipalities. It's not a matter of funding, it's a matter of what are we getting for that funding. I think we have some pretty spectacular FDs here in CO... and our terrain is much more difficult here vs. CA, if that says anything. So I don't think it's something to worry about just yet, our bravest do their best with what they have...
