When I was stationed in Great Lakes (North Chicago) me and a buddy went
to a local slot car shop and racetrack on the weekends. They had a 100ft or maybe
bigger track and then a 20 ft or maybe longer drag strip with the light tree
and we had a blast. A pizza joint was next door and they served beer even to
us younger guys back then
I wanna race!!!!!!!!!
I loved those as a kid...still have most of the sets (going back to the 70s) somewhere in storage.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Damn nice collection! And nice track, thats cool as hell. I miss my slot cars. Have two brothers, we would race and just beet the crap out of them. Strap bottle rockets to em and sh*t like that.![]()
I know that somewhere in the garage or attic is a box with a couple of controllers and wing cars with Super 16D motors in them. Guess what I am going to be looking for this weekend.
Thanks for posting and reminding me a) how much fun those are and b) that I have some somewhere....
I loved slot cars. My dad used to take me in the 60s. Loved them when they were 1/25 scale. They were larger and look like real race cars of the time....
Got back into them in the early 90s and promptly gave it up. Cars were smaller and they didn't even look like cars. The bodies were lexan wedges and they didn't even have front wheels.
Then a few years ago, my bro-in-law built a track in his basement. Loved it again. More like what you have. Would love to do something like that if I had the space....
They still run them up in Longmont at a hobby store on northern MainSt.
Nice copy of I25 during rush hour.
I had slot tracks as a kid. Kinda wish I still had the set-up.
