Default I need someone to install 50a service at my house

Preferably someone who knows what they're doing and can reasonably assure me that the house will not burn down as a result of said work.... lol

I'm parking a 5th wheel trailer by the house and i need an outlet put in somewhere, which i assume will have its own breaker? I dont know.... anyways, PM or reply in the post about how much you would charge and when you can do it, id like it done ASAP, but im not paying "emergency pay".... lol

I'm on the SW side of the springs in the Ivywild area.

Do You have space in the Panel? And, is the panel big enough to add a 50a outlet?

*ETA*- The Panel inside or outside? And, is it on the wall or in the wall?

I dont know.... i was thinking whoever did it could just tap into the line off the meter and put in its own breaker?

The panel is inside, and i dont think it will support a 50a breaker.

EDIT... let me answer a bit more clearly, cuz i re-read it and called myself a fucking idiot... lol

I dont beleive i have space on the panel. I dont think theres space enough to add another breaker. the panel is inside, and its IN the wall.

Again, i guess i just assumed the wire could be run before the breaker, and its own breaker put on, and then run back out to the outlet. no?

you may want to check and see if 30a is enough, I plugged mine into the 30a that was installed at my house, and ran the ac, stereo, microwave, plasma tv, and the fridge to try and pop the breaker, and everyting worked without a hitch.

When we built our vacation home I had a 30 amp outlet installed on the outside of the house. Many of the older RV parks only have 30 amp service and it is sufficient enough to run the AC and Microwave at the same time. The only time I've had trouble with 30 amp is when trying to run the front and rear AC units at the same time.

Any respectable electrician would not do this. This would not be to code. Tell me what type of existing panel you have now IE. GE, Siemens, Federal Pacific, Westinghouse, ect. Then look at the Amperage rating of the main breaker. Then tell me if the breakers are thick or thin, thick breakers will look to be about 1/2" thick, thin breaker will look to be about 1/4" thick. How old is the house or the service. You may also have a combination of thick and thin breakers. I don't do side work but may be able to refer you to a person in the Springs that does. I have over 25 years and a masters in the field.

Yep gotta agree with Sparkens, I've been doing it 20 years. And would love to get out of it because of crap like that. Do it right or don't do it.

lol well, since i know nothing, i dont know whats right, so if what i was suggesting was wrong, just say so..... its my grandmothers house, im actually just parking there till i can get to texas, and i figured it would be a good place to put elec outlet for when i come back to visit. ANYways, if 30 is good enough, then 30 is good enough, does that change the price or how its installed? Ill have to get a pic of her breaker box and post i guess.
