Ryan didn't suck. He stuck to the Romney/Ryan plan and articulated it well.

Biden? I'm gonna disagree with most of you. I think he did well. Surprisingly well. Not because anything he said was true of his administration but because he said very well what liberals want to hear. True or not that plays well with his/Obama's base. Yes, he was annoying, condescending and smug to anyone who cared to look objectively...but his base isn't interested in that.

So, from that perspective, Biden did much better than I thought he would and I seriously under-estimated his ability.

Ryan was pragmatic and stuck to specifics and facts.

But I think this one was much closer than the Romney/Obama debate.

Lousy format, no real debate, just presenting "plans". That's what campaigns are for.


Present question/topic and have back and forth between candidates. Sniper7 doesn't moderate, he referees. If one or the other gets long winded, interrupts, talks over etc., he bitch slaps them to get back on track. Let them beat the hell outta each other and shred their platforms. They can be polite and civil but need to get down to business.

Lost 20 bucks to my wife. Bet how bad Biden would gaff. Had to agree he made no major ones and the only one I could remember was "I never say anything I don't mean". She laughed and said that he had several days to dry out and get coached.
