I just got a brand new Glock and felt weird about it not being dirty or beat up. That's what makes a Glock a Glock. They work better dirty and dingy.
It would be like having "shiny new" hockey equipment...

Velvet jewelry bag, and do not take it out of your dresser drawer. Seriously, the UV here in CO at this elevation can wreak havoc on pistol finishes, I wouldn't dare let sunlight hit it, or the dry air we have here. A good humidifier will prolong the finish, along with that velvet bag.
I took a glock frame and sprayed 4 coats of Plasti-dip onto it to get a rubberized texture on the whole frame.
It held up pretty well and I am willing to bet it will stick to the slide -until you shoot it and it bubbles.
even when it bubbles- who cares. Peel it off and spray again. It peels off without leaving any residues.
this combined with the trigger guard cover holsters like the Raven Concealment Vanguard will have you in business for <$50.
i still think it is better to just beat it up a little and abandon ideas of protecting the finish.

No true Scotsman.
"When our people become fighters, our leaders will be able to sit at the conference table as equals, not dependent on the whim and the generosity of the oppressors. It will be in the best interests of both sides to negotiate just, honorable, and lasting settlements."
