I can make a climate change prediction, soon it will get colder then normal.....then it will get nicer and the earth will bloom.....theeeen it will get hot for a few months when the kids are not in school then just maybe, juuuuust maybe it will gradually get cooler and I will set up my Christmas decorations and artificial tree, cuz I'm GREEN like that, and it will,start all over again. The earth will survive no matter what humans do. Will it be inhabitable for us? Who knows. A lot of the earth isn't already, but since we have the ability to think rationally, we make it inhabitable (on a large scale).

The same people who talk about the polar ice caps melting conveniently leave out that period of time in the earth's history called the ice age... the earth certainly didn't have a problem warming up without our "massive" carbon emissions.

Not to mention that roughly every 1500 years, regardless of human impact, there is a dramatic shift in temperature. Just because, ya know, NATURE.

Yeah I am a little surprised too. That went downhill quick. Regardless of your degree it is pointless to argue this issue. I have taken classes on all of these issues and I work in the power production industry, and formerly nuclear power. The one thing that I can tell you is that no one out there has any idea what they are talking about because as soon as they make a prediction, the earth does the exact opposite. There is no way to measure the human impact when a single volcano erupting in Indonesia emits more CO2 than the rest of the entire USA would in three years from all sources. Who knows where the balance point is, was or will ever be. It is like throwing a rock into a hurricane and trying to determine its impact in the aftermath. There are too many variables and to many unknowns.
