Sends a message, but in my opinion it's the wrong message.

The BATFE has nothing to do with taking our rights away.

The media and internet nutjobs have given the ATF and other govt' agencies a bad name.

Think of the way that the popular media reports issues relating to guns. They don't have a clue as to what they are talking about most of the time, correct? The media has the same problem when they are reporting information about what / why law enforcement agencies do the things they do.

The BATFE guys that I know are very good guys and have no interest in taking guns from law abiding citizens. Their cases evolve around real world criminals using / possessing firearms (ie. convicted felons, gangs, criminals in the drug trade, etc)

If you want to paint a more accurate picture of the message you want to convey, maybe you should have a politician and maybe someone from the popular media standing over Lady Liberty.....as that is who is responsible for wanting to take our rights away.

You might want to tell that to the thousands of americans who have felt their wrath. We can start here on this very site one of our members bought an Atkins accelerator which was approved by BATFE. After it went into production they decided it was a MG and he lost out on $1200.00.

Or how about the AZ state trooper that bought a used AR-15 for a duty weapon and upon going to the range found out it speratically fired more than one shot. He called ATF and asked what to do they said send it back to the manufacturer and get it repaired. He sent it back to Colt they intercepted the packeged and busted him for being in posession of an illegal MG.

The judge ripped the ATF agents a new ass claiming that was a gross abuse of their power. If you like I will be more than happy to send you the court transcripts of that case.

The media has nothing to do with it since I don't listen to anything they say for obvious reasons. My perspective of the ATF is based on fact not the media.

I don't know them so I can't say, I can only judge what the agency they work for does on a regular basis. I can say with a fact that what ATF does is far beyond busting real world criminals. If that is actually what they did do I would support them.

I agree with that statement 100% when it comes to local law enforcement the ATF is not local they are federal and think they are god. You need to go to James Bardwells site and do some research on ATF "RULINGS" they make the law up as they go to suite them.
