That break-in thing is a bunch of crap. Shoot it, hand cycle it, do it dry or lubed, it makes no difference.

With that said, I personally wouldn't trade a 1911 (which I shoot well) for some baby double stack 9 that may or may not function. If your Taurus is reliable, I'd keep it.

Seriously, if you like your PT, and it's accurate and reliable, hang on to it. If you want something different, make the trade. It's not like you'll be stuck with the Para forever. If you trade into it and hate it, trade it for something else...

I have not heard good things about the hawg.

The Para Hawg in .45 is a notorious jam-o-matic . . . I have never heard of one running well, even with polishing and new springs.

If you want an affordable compact 9mm, there is a CZ RAMI on sale in the forum for under 500 right now, and that pistol is far better than the Hawg or the Taurus.
