    Default September 11th, 2001










    I was in Chicago at Motorola for training that week. Guy next to me received a phone call. He was on a emergency notification list for the NYcity area. Seems an aircraft had hit one of the WTC towers. I said that was no accident!... news started to trickle in. We all end up watching helplessly as events unfold in the auditorium on the projection screen tv.

    I had worked on the UAL aircraft that were used. Several co-workers were dispatched to the scene in PA to assist the FBI. Several pilots I knew were good friends with the UAL employees on those planes.

    I was at home here in Arvada when the first plane hit the WTC. As we watched the news that morning nobody knew for sure what really happened. They reported that some sort of a commuter plane or helicopter must of accidentally crashed into the first tower. Within minutes my wife and I stared in shock as the second plane slammed into the other tower. I realized this was no accident. I was feeling pretty sick by the time it was all over. I couldn't hardly sleep that night because of how pissed I was and how quite the skies were with the occasional fighter jet patrolling over the city. We'll never ever ever forget September 11, 2001

    I grew up in Flushing, NY in Queens one of the 5 boroughs of NYC. Last night I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a good friend who works for #4 Truck. They were one of the first houses to respond to the WTC. 16 of his brother's fell that morning including their Chief and their truck. Sitting here this morning thinking about what I was doing 10 years ago when I first learned that the United States of America was under attack and I'm angry. What can I do? What have I learned and what am I teaching my children? I feel that I am trying and believe in my heart that I am a patriot. I want to honor those who fell, and those who chose to put on the uniform. I feel that education is the answer.

    I don't see where we, as American's, have adopted the lessons learned. I see more and more youtube video showing just how truly barbaric we are to each other. The video of the mother who called her gang banger brother from the bus because someone confronted her about spanking her child disturbs me to this day. My 16 year old son rides the bus everyday and I am more than concerned. I see rights of American's being given up under the guise of safety, I see more and more political activity to limit what it means to be an American, I see the facade that TSA is keeping us safe, they are not keeping us safe, I see more and more legislation to "control" honest citizens and limit our freedoms that our founding father's fought so hard for. If I read another story about a company laying off tens of thousands of American's only to hire 5 times that many in India I'm going to puke. Why is this practice not consider TREASON? Where are the honest factory jobs that made this country great? When did we become a nation of embarrassing wal-marters? More people vote for their favorite American Idol than for President.

    Sorry for the rant....feels like a Monday all over again.

    I know I'm all over the place but I'm feeling this something in the pit of my stomach and want it to go away.

    I'm really digging this forum, thanks for having it.

    I was getting ready for school that morning and my stepdad yelled at me to get in the living room. I thought, "oh great, what did I do now?" The news was on and he said a plane flew into the world trade center.

    10 years later I'll be spending the anniversary in Asscrakistan. Is there any reason to fight a war for 10 years? What are we hoping to accomplish now that we haven't been able to in 10 years? There is nothing here in Afghanistan that is worth one single American life. Nothing. We need to shit or get off the pot.

    I was in Las Vegas at the hospital waiting on my son to arrive. We watched it all day till 4:30 when he got here.
